Russel Brand Wants to Team Up with the Jonas Brothers

Russell Brand hopes to team up with the Jonas Brothers and record a festive duet.

‘I want to learn more about American cultural holidays…and then perhaps [I’ll record] a Christmas song with the Jonas Brothers,’ he tells the Daily Record.
‘I love them little guys. I’ve got nothing against the brothers as a concept. I love the idea.’

Earlier this year Brand mocked the brothers for being virgins throughout the Video Music Awards.

Russell Brand quits BBC over prank calls

Russell Brand has resigned from his Radio 2 programme following prank calls he made with Jonathan Ross to actor Andrew Sachs (he told him he had slept with his grandaughter Georgia)

The comedian has had a very controvercial career so far....

Brand, a former heroin addict, has found himself in trouble - and out of work - several times since he launched his media career on the back of a successful stand-up act.

He lost one of his first jobs, hosting MTV Select, when he turned up for work the day after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America dressed as Osama bin Laden.

The following year, he was sacked from radio station XFM for reading pornographic material on air during a Sunday afternoon show.

He received criticism in 2006 when David Cameron appeared as a guest on his popular BBC chat show, and was asked personal sexual questions relating to former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

His autobiography, My Booky Wook, was a best-seller and his acting career has begun to take off in the US after he appeared in the 2007 St Trinian's film and Judd Apatow's comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Brand made headlines again in September when he presented the MTV Video Music Awards and described US president George Bush as a "that retarded cowboy fella"and was also criticised US pop group The Jonas Brothers for wearing purity rings symbolising their virginity.

Russell Brand offends again

Fresh off the heels of his controversial MTV Video Music Awards hosting gig (not to mention his naughty comments about Helen Mirren), Russell Brand is in hot water again.

The Daily Telegraph reports that they were set to telephone interview 78-year-old Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.

But Sachs never picked up for the exchange.

Brand and Ross proceeded to leave scandalous messages on Sachs' voicemail, while still on air. In one, Russell Brand claimed he had slept with the actor's granddaughter, Georgina Baillie.

After 546 listener complaints, Brand did an on-air apology.

"I'd like to apologize for these terrible attacks, Andrew Sachs," Brand sings in the video below. "I'd like to show contrition to the max, Andrew Sachs!"

Andrew Sachs is not quite over the incident: "People ask me if I'm angry—well, yes, but not half as angry as Georgina..."
